Chico Rebels' primary purpose is to teach and promote the game of Lacrosse in a fun, safe, and sportsmanlike environment. Chico Rebels is dedicated to the skill development of lacrosse players and teaches a game of speed, position, and finesse.
Rebels Director of Lacrosse Luke Christiansen is an experienced athletic administrator, and coach with experience at the International, Collegiate, and Prep ranks. He currently serves as the Head Lacrosse Coach of the Spanish National Team, and will lead Spain at the 2016 European Lacrosse Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
Christiansen served as the Assistant Athletic Director at Laurel University while establishing the intercollegiate athletic department. Before Laurel, Christiansen was an assistant coach at Southern Virginia University, where he oversaw recruiting as the program transitioned to the Capital Athletic Conference. Prior to SVU, Christiansen was the Head Coach at Camden Military Academy, where he led his team to two consecutive state semifinal berths. To begin his coaching career, he was the defensive coordinator for the Utah State University men's lacrosse club. During his time at Utah State, he guided the defense to its first recorded shut out and lowest goals against average in program history. He has also written for the 3d Rising Lacrosse Recruiting Network and was a pollster for the USA Today HS Lacrosse Rankings.
As a student-athlete Christiansen participated on the football and men’s lacrosse teams at Southern Virginia University. He graduated from SVU with a B.A. in Spanish/Creative Writing and received a M.S. in Sports Management from Missouri Baptist University.
